DAI is implementing the USAID funded Musharikat project across Afghanistan, working in all 34 provinces with the goal of increasing the equality and empowerment of women throughout the country. Musharikat will provide opportunities for women’s rights activists and groups to jointly identify and carry-out discreet advocacy and public awareness campaigns designed to influence local, provincial and national public policies banning harmful social practices, advance women’s welfare and opportunities by specifically building a constituency supportive of women’s rights.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a grants coordinator and point of contact between the Grantees and Grants Departments and must be proactively involved in the grants cycle of management and processes (pre award & post award).

• Contribute in the management of awards, daily administrative tasks and activities and help the team to achieve the deadlines including preparing monthly spending status and grants tracking spreadsheets, memos, amendment to the contract.
• Coordinates with Finance, program, M&E and externally with the stakeholders in particular the grantees to ensure on time data collection and reporting essential for deliverables.
• Prepare requests for (grant) applications (RFAs)
• Assist Grants Manager in the review/evaluation of grants under contract for compliance with DAI and USAID rules and procedures
• Prepare request for consent to issue grants packages in accordance with FAR Part 44
• Draft grant agreements and assist with monitoring of grant implementation activities
• Assist in timely entry of grant information in relevant database for tracking and reporting
• Help prepare and conduct formal training sessions on grant application and execution procedures for new grantees and potential partner organizations as needed
• Maintain hard copy files and ensure electronic files are maintained in DAI’s management database (TAMIS)
• Ensure required approvals are obtained and documented.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Bachelor plus 4 years of professional experience in the related field or baccalaureate plus 7 years work experience, preferably working with grants for USAID-funded programs,
• Proficiency using Microsoft office suite, and other relevant software
• Demonstrated strong program solving skills as well as exceptional customer relations (both internally and externally); provides sound business judgment and contractual oversight
• Excellent organizational skills with a willingness to take initiative and be proactive in the grant process
• Excellent communications and team work skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization and of different multi-cultural backgrounds
• Fluency in English is required
