DAI is implementing the USAID funded Musharikat project across Afghanistan, working in all 34 provinces with the goal of increasing the equality and empowerment of women throughout the country. Musharikat will provide opportunities for women’s rights activists and groups to jointly identify and carry-out discreet advocacy and public awareness campaigns designed to influence local, provincial and national public policies banning harmful social practices, advance women’s welfare and opportunities by specifically building a constituency supportive of women’s rights.

Job Description


The STTA Program Officer (Peace Process) will be responsible for the following:

Provide technical and administrative support to project staff on key objectives particularly as they pertain to women in the peace process coalition.
Work closely with the operations (finance and procurement) to make sure events are conducted timely and efficiently.
Oversees implementation of assigned activities and ensures that project results are met
Oversee and monitor grants awarded to select NGOs as part of the peace process coalition.
Support advocacy campaigns by engaging the media to gain exposure and credibility.
Develop and implements work plans for various sub-component activities including but not limited to women in the peace process.
Assist in the development of inclusive peace process strategies and planning, with attention to gender integration, and empowering women to effectively advocate for their rights.
Contributes to the development of reports, including quarterly and annual reports
With key program staff and stakeholders, ensure program’s strategic objectives and results are fully accomplished and meet expected technical quality standards.
Ensure that vision and plans for the program are innovative and in line with Musharikat program strategy.
With program staff, ensure the delivery of quality training and capacity development support to coalition members.
Assist in preparing and presenting regular reports and updates, as appropriate.

Job Requirements


Bachelor degree plus 4 years of relevant work experience or Baccalaureate plus 7 years of work experience, At least 2- Year College studies in political science, economics, anthropology, development studies, business administration or sociology.
3-5 year experience providing technical and administrative support to CSOs, NGOs, or government agencies in public policy, advocacy and/or peace building initiatives.
Experience with policy development and advocating for change/reforms
Strong local networks and trusted relationships at the communication level
The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in planning, reporting and presentations.
Dedication to women’s rights and civil society development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
