To celebrate the “16 Days” Campaign, Musharikat prepared a comprehensive array of events all across Afghanistan. Two of the events are hightlighted here:

“16 Days” Conference – was held in Herat and was attended by 200 activists and CSOs.  The group was addressed by Ms. Hasanzada, Deputy Governor, who spoke about the provincial government’s efforts to prevent violence against women.  The event was a true celebration with local musicians entertaining the crowd and regional writers autographing their books. The event was widely broadcast on local media, social media and the Facebook page of the governor.

Women’s volleyball game – in Kabul, Musharikat coalition member Youth Coordination and Empowerment Organization held a volleyball tournament at the Red Crescent gym. The young women enjoyed the competition and came away with prizes and “16 Days” T-shirts.  All of the women playing registered to join a Musharikat coalition!
